The oak tree is a member of the Beech family and its scientific name is Quercus or Lithocarpus. The largest oak tree on record, believed to be more than 400 years old, is the Wye oak in the community of Wye Mills on Maryland's eastern shore in the U.S.A. Handcast in solid, lead-free pewter, and dipped in gold, each of our pins is an original three dimensional sculpture signed by the artist, Jim Clift.
